Well lads, whats there to say that hasn't been said already! UNREAL!! It has passed the WW as the best day on a bike so far. A very tough day yesterday and you really had to be ON throughout the day. Made the transitions well in advance but had bad smell Condon following me throughout and I couldn't shake him ;-) Ah no, it was excellent having him up at the starts with me and we really got a buzz going. Stages were world class and very physical especially Stage 7 which I had to dig deep to get through. There was so much support up the hill on every stage which was surreal. It was never going to be easy and the two days practice really took its toll towards the end. Very happy with 113th in the Mens and finished ahead of a few local guys that I thought would have beat me. Thanks very much for the entry dudes and now its time to eat my weight 4 times over in preparation for Scotland which make Ireland look like a game of Tiddlywinks.

You totally deserved that wild card Paul... Sladed some big names..... well done to Jimmy and Ian too big big day on the bike 13 mins for a lunch stop... made my lunch call by 15 secs... stage 3 by 50 sec (@Paul, I stopped to tell Tara where to catch you... looked at the watch went white and cycled off, I think she thought I was on something..!! That was the way to 3) just didn't stop for the rest of the day and had no stress... 16th in Masters (old farts) IN THE WORLD... I'm still buzzing

Yeah that was just an amazing day. The crowds, the atmosphere, the sunshine, the organisation, everything came together. While being one of the best days on the bike I do think it was one of the hardest also. You're lashing down trails and hitting straight into climbs without a break. 6 hours in the saddle in total with dragging fire road climbs coupled with full on burly downhill tracks which really took its toll on the body.

I burped my rear tyre on 1 or 2 and while I felt it roll didn't actually check it till after stage 4 when it was running on 18psi. Just lucky I didn't rip it open and managed to get it back up on the neutral mechanical stop.

Am delighted with finishing it as had a bad dose on the Friday to which I had to cut practice short and never got to do 3 and 4.

Considered dropping out but pushed through on Saturday and reckon I sweated out most of it by Sunday.

Well done to Paul with a savage result and Scott doing so well in such a stacked field also but we expected it from ye lads who are consistently a threat at the sharp end of the field.

Jacko and I are just happy to have finished in one piece and smug in the knowledge that we competed and finished an Enduro World Series  :P

It also must be noted that we all beat Fabien Barel on Stage 4. (He may have punctured but we wont mention that)

That is something that will be kept for the grandchildren  ;)

Best of luck Tayto who is heading off this week to Tweedlove and then on to Europe to do the next two stages.

The man is peaking like a Chinese duck and the sky is the limit.

Keep her lit lad

Also like to add thank you for everyone who came down and cheered us all along the way. It was just brilliant and really pushed you on when feeling wrecked. The crowds and atmosphere was electric and has really put Ireland on the world stage of MTB.

Credit to Niall Davis with the vision and all the others who helped out volunteered and worked to make this one of the best events not only to reach Ireland but of the Enduro Calendar year

Amazing weekend, never seen or experienced anything like it. Delighted to finish it as I was a bit concerned Id bitten off more than I could chew when I entered it. 7 times up that hill under a deadline was tough going, got quite tired at stage 6 and 7 and made a few mistakes as a result. Just concentrated on making my start times and avoiding any unnecessary added penalties. Great buzz around the place on practice but race day was absolutely electric. Didn't get to see much of Scott, jimmy or Paul as I started later than them but in fairness I wasn't doing much talking going up those climbs.

Congrats to Scott for getting a top 20 and of course Killian who is gonna be a superstar.

Thanks for all the support/heckling, was great to hear familiar voices heading down the trails.

The names jiimmmy big Iano Scott and Tayto will be mentioned in the folklore of IMBRC for generations to come, the men that took on the world at the EWS and beat Fabian Bariel (on stage 4).
We will b telling the kids how they spent 3 long days in the saddle, battling fire (roads) jeering madmen and killer descents.. How jimmy nearly died from man flu but he never gave up and by race day his yellow wheels were glowing red hot he was going so hard and fast,or how big Ian,who was 8ft tall, fell off his bike again and again but got back up every time and it was the rocks and trees that came out second best.or how Masters Barkley raced every stage as hard and as fast as he could even though he was nursing a 4yr old broken shoulder and finished in the top twenty in the universe,or how the legendary red bearded pirate captain Tayto guided his giant rig through The 7 circles of hells inferno only to rise up and continue his odyssey through Scotland and France..
The mighty EWS IMBRC legends!!  >:(

I may have had a few glasses of vino to celebrate their achievements !!!   :)

Thanks lads, but most of the credit goes to the bottle of red wine I just had to finish off last night..
But the real inspiration comes from the the EWS Hero's..
God speed you brave souls. Ha!!!
