Fantastic send off for Corney today guys.

Lara and Aoife were delighted, along with the rest of his family. His mother expressed her thanks to me today and was delighted he was so loved.

On behalf of Corneys family, id like to thanks everyone for their support, from all the club members, former members, members from MAD, EPIC,Biking.ie,  DLCO, Gravity BC and other clubs. It was great that you could all join in on Corneys final Sat spin. He would be proud of you all.!

The conditions were awful yesterday so I hope nobody is waking up with a cold!

Corney's “First Club Spin” started on a Sunday in March 2003 from the Cycle Inn on what is now the old Greenhills road. He had a red coloured 'Ideal' bike with v-brakes. Corney would have been both humbled and delighted with his “Last Club Spin” so thumbs up to all for your special effort. It was beautiful to see all the cycling friends from throughout the years.

RIP big man

Just a few messages that came in

Caroline Duffy (Corneys sister) Corney would have loved it. Thank you very much from all the family. It was a beautiful send off and all of you should be very proud. Although we were heartbroken, we got great comfort in seeing how loved Corney was and how he touched so many lives in different ways. Xx

Hi, I'm Corneys cousin and I wanted to thank you for the great sending off you guys gave him and I was wondering if I could buy one of your tops so I can wear it when I go out for a ride on my local trails

On behalf of everyone at Racing795 I would like to express our condolences to you and everyone at IMBRC on the passing of Corney Duffy.

I remember when we started racing in 2008, Corney was an ever present in the old 'Masters' category. Myself and David Conway were usually occupying the rear end of the field as was Corney, so we had many a good battle! Whilst not knowing him well, he was a very familiar face to us at those early races.

May he rest in peace

Regards
David Furlong
David Conway
and all at Racing795

It was an honor to be a part of Corny's last spin yesterday. Sure he was looking over us all and saying with a smile and a wink....you'll have to prove your not all fair weather cyclists now lads ! I had the dual pleasure to work with the big gentle man (as a result of him getting me a dig out and getting me a start when I was out of work after the crisis) as well as with the club over the yrs. Attached is my favorite photo from one of the 2014 mountain sprockets sessions in the Phoenix park where the best way to describe Corny's coaching style is one of infectious enthusiasm ! Conor (Joe's eldest son) is rounding Pete's berm and Corny is just good ole Corny ...100% up for the craic !
