An Taisce: Cycling Co-ordinator
An Taisce, The National Trust for Ireland, & Cyclist.ie wish to employ a Cycling Co-ordinator on a 9-month fixed term contract (with the possibility of extension / subject to funding).
The successful candidate will work under the direction of An Taisce’s Director in liaison with Cyclist.ie, and part of An Taisce’s advocacy team, to further cycling promotion in Ireland, and monitor planning applications which impact upon, or have relevance to, cycling.
The ideal candidate should also be an active cyclist with a strong interest in the promotion of cycling. Applicants should have experience in planning and / or transport, demonstrate knowledge in dealing with applications in sensitive areas of the built and natural environment, and be highly motivated. Applicants should be able to show:
•   A fundamental understanding of the public purpose underlying An Taisce and Cyclist.ie and empathy with their mission, goals and objectives
•   Strong knowledge of Ireland’s planning system and environment, SmarterTravel, and the National Cycle Policy Framework, as well as familiarity with making submissions under the Irish planning system
•   Excellent skills in written and oral communication, with expertise in communicating complex concepts to a range of audiences
•   Good team-working and inter-personal skills, working with volunteers and stakeholders
The successful candidate will be expected to seek, organise and hold meetings with local and national policy-makers.
Salary will be based upon relevant skills and experience. The time envisaged is 2 days per week, to include a number of Saturdays over the course of the contract period.
