I know a lot of people seem to be taking protein, protein shakes etc. Im thinking of giving it a go now that the summer is starting I wanna up my time on the bike but fear ill be doing damage if I don't recover properly as noticed my shoulder at me today from an old injury

Does anyone have any reccomedations on what to take and when. As said Ive no real issues at the moment but I want to get out more and for longer periods which is going to take its toll.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
