Big thanks to everyone who came along today to race and help out at our Club Champs. The 5km lap was tough as it should be for the xc champs, not helped by the 20min shower which made the course slick..! Yesterday it was bone dry.
Well done to
Leo McGarr who retained the club champions title and winners jersey, which is a first in recent club history. Gar Maguire was close to retaining the title in 2010 and Stephen Pollock missed out by 19 seconds in 2011 but Leo managed to pull it off today..!
Coming in 2nd place today was speedy Kevin O'Hara. Kevin was also 2nd in the club league, so maybe he'll go one better next year..
In 3rd place we had fast junior Sean Feeney coming back into form after taking a break for the leaving cert this summer.
In the Youth Champs, Adam McGarr continues his great year by winning the title in a very tight 4 lap short course race.
In the Guest Category we had a inter-MAD MTB battle for the trophy with Nigel Dunne (MAD) coming out on top in 1st place. Colm O'Reilly (MAD) finished in 2nd place and Sean Downey (Cycleways CC) finishing in 3rd place.
Great craic in the Kilteel Inn afterwards for the prize giving..!
