Buy & Sell / Ridley Crossbow Cyclocross rolling chasis for sale
« on: November 01, 2017, 12:32:42 PM »
Hi all, selling my Ridley Crossbow CX frame with a few bits.  I used it as a commuter bike for the last few years but it wouldn't take much to get it racing cross or as a commuter either geared or single speed.  Club colours too.

Comes with all in picture including
Shimano Ultegra 6700 wheelset (rear wheel needs a rebuild as rim is buckled but it's still rolling)
stem, seatpost, saddle and headset.
Shimano Utegra 6700 BB and front mech.
Tectro CX cantis.

I can through in a carbon flat handlebar if you like.

Looking for €200

Looking forward to seeing you all in Carrick in May.

Thanks,

I'm not riding Scott, I'm the press officer so I'll be working unfortunately.  Shaping up to be an amazing weekend.

It should be easier than last year as the dates for entry have been spread out. Preparation is the key and fingers on buttons at launch time.

New Zealand just sold out in 3 minutes! Have everything to hand though and you should be okay.

On a side note, last year my transaction was processing for 45 mins with a spinning wheel and do not refresh your page message. Total nightmare. I rang my credit card company during this time and they could see the Scottish round as cleared but Italy took forever! Worth the wait in the end though... Fingers crossed for you all lads!

Hi Jimmy,

I've been trying to find it since you asked but am only on mobile. Last year you could pre-register but it may be integrated into the new registration system. NZ sold out in minutes so I can't check. I'm trying to get a clarification. Important thing is you don't the the license unless you are planning on turning pro.

Here might be a good place to start but the mobile version doesn't give a link

It's a bit vague this year but pre registering last year definitely sped me up and I got into Scotland and Italy do am basing it off my own experience. I know people who didn't get in cause it timed out.

Yeah system was a nightmare, lots of form filling.  The transaction was hanging for 50 minutes too.  Tweedlove was authorised at 5.15 but Italy didn't go through until 6.05.  It was one click to pay for both.  Apparantly they took over 1500 applications in 1 hour.

The numbers are due to the logistics.  With two bused transitions they can only cater for 50 bikes on the trailers in order to make it around the 4 venues.  It's a tour de force of North East Wicklow with Killruddery, Kindlestown, Ballinastoe and Djouce.  Niall always puts on a good show, this is easily worth the money.  If he really wanted to cash in he'd run a normal Gravity Enduro type event in the Dublin/Wicklow area and get 350 riders.  This is about doing something a little different and boutique.

You want to talk about a race organiser ripping people off have a look at the UK round of the EWS.  600 riders on course per day!  Insanity.

Only just saw this, I am a huge fan and wear them virtually year round.  They are awesome although you need to wear a liner under them in my opinion, whether a light cycling sock in the "Summer" or a heavy duty one in the Winter.  Keep your feet dry but not insulated.  I wear them commuting and hiking too.

They have gone through several iterations and the latest ones in particular are great.  Light, thin and they work in all but submersion.  Don't go walking through rivers...

Some of the stages were seriously pedally, especially stages 3 and 4.  Loads of time to be made up by fit boys.  Great racing though.  Stage 5 was deadly.  Sooo tired after the climb up Seefin but the savage descent was worth it, allegedly 1,000 feet of descending.

Cracker of an event, seriously under supported but the racing was great on largely dry trails. Ran out of steam a bit on the long pedaly bits on stage 4&5 and found stage 1 a bit tough but overall pleased with the progression since the Gravity down there in May.
Great way to end the Enduro season but looking forward to 2014 already!

Sorry for your pain Jimmy, you were flying! And Scott was on a stormer.

Wasn't my day.  Never really felt on form all day, had very little sleep after a busy week and just couldn't turn the legs.  Add in a big crash on Stage 1 and I'll be limping for a few days.  Had a contender for dismount of the year on Stage 5 but sure all well that ends well, Superman might have some competition though.

Having said all that, what a day, loved the course, rode stages 4-6 blind but had a great laugh, rode everything too which I was well happy about.  As to the Trek...... nuff said.  I believe I wasn't the only one though.

Now to get it all back on track for the Bluegrass in 2 weeks!  Who's going?
