Hello people of Tallaght !!
Check out the XC Nationals Blog i have created..I sent some of you emails ( i don't have everybodies !!!) with a request for some Blurb and a photo..not only fast lads like Paul Barry and Cornelius, but some of your less deadly riders like kevin Stanley and Goober mcCluskey I can accomadate, these lads need the love too !!

If you want to parade yourself in front of the XC racing population feel free to send me your details. I don't care if you think you are **** , if you want everybody to love you and and admire you then fill this in and send it to me and if you have a decent photo..do it ...do it ...do it !!

Some first time nationalers would be good...people with sad stories, stories of adversity..etc etc..!!

I hope..but I hope that my Development races contributed to the numbers in Sundays race. And i'm hoping that we keep drawing in bigger crowds to all the races.
I have a plan to do something about the lack of Youth riders and ladies, Mike Jordan is onboard with that so its all good.
You have definitely set the standard for the NPS this year. If the other organisers can't reach that, then they are letting us all down.
we have to support each other and keep bringing in new people, but 80 masters is bad news, we should be looking at 80 riders spread across all categories in the Youth Cats.
If anybody from the IMBRC would like to get involved in developing Youth Riders and has any ideas i'd be glad to hear from them,
Richie Byrne

well done Gar..great event , the only excitement I got was driving across the field , i didn't take a spin on the course or you would have been minus a Commissar, great organisation and a great team, that was the biggest tuenout ever in the history of irish XC racing. The previous record was the first national Champs in 1992 that Joe McCall won. There was 217 riders in that. As it was the first National Mountainbike Champinships in Ireland, it was considered a demo event.

absolutely fantastic job boys, great course and great event. You should be well proud of yourselves. Nice one, I'm absolutely stunned by the effort that went into the track and as an old timer I'm indebted to you guys for reopening a brilliant venue, McGuire start building an XC course up there or i'll come around to your house and start singing " my way" in the nip, in your front garden.

I only saw Colm and Cornelius from IMBRC at the race.
Corney had a bad crash and managed to break his shifter off.
Very poor turnout from most of the Clubs, but there was about 12 from EPIC, 4 or 5 from MAD and 1 from WORC. Pity though, the weather was great and the track was well marked, Aiden McDonald won the Elite race and got a really nice trophy for his efforts
