The guys down in Wexford have been very busy with course preparations and this is set to be an excellent kick-start to the XC Racing season and a great lead-into the XC NPS.
A lot of riders are keen to ride a new course and get some early-season racing in to test new bikes (and new legs!), and see how fast they are versus the other riders in their respective categories, and how much more training they’ll need to do….
With sections named as ‘Paradise’, ‘Critical Mass’ and ‘The Dabbage patch’, the Rnd 1 course is going to offer a wide variety of terrain to test technical skills and fitness.

I hear Rose took the win in the Sport ladies and Cian won the u-14.
Well done guys.
-
I enjoyed that race...!!
Very well organisied by the lads from wexford.... even got curry afterwards :)
The lap was good too....long fireroad to start, followed by some slippy ST, then another long double track climb which led into a series of slow slippy technical descents... Alot of riders came a cropper here, myself included... i got two clean laps out of 4... First lap i landed on Morgan (MAD) and the last lap i was on Trevs tail and came off, burped the front.... Had less than 10psi in the tyre to get to the finish, which was difficult to steer, so had to take it handy back to the finish...
Had a some nice battles with Ben on the 1st lap and Trev on 3&4
Pretty good day out and well done to Cian and Rose on their wins :)

Thanks lads! Yeah well done to Cian too, word on the street is he's the one to watch!!
Good lap times from everyone too! ;)
-
that was a fantastic race, really enjoyed it. lap times by all were impressive, I think another lap would have been the death of me and I had a couple encounters with the trees on them rocky sections.
Bring on the next one......

yeah I really enjoyed that today, even with the few sketchy bits, felt i was going well til i met a tree on one of the rocky decents on the 3rd lap... the thai food at the end hit the spot and everyone had a good chat about where they went right or wrong. well organised event.. well done to Cian and Rose great results, also to Trev and Paul for making the jump to masters and competing so well. A big thanks to Rose for doing the bottles. jaysus i murdered a couple of beers when i got home.. best recovery drinks on the market.

I was practicing my rugby tackles :)
Strange tackle and he's smiling!

Lol that photo is class! I had the view from the top of the drop, poor Paul was committed to the line and had nowhere to go. Left the door open for me down the right. Only time I got past Paul in the whole race.
Great race, well done to Rose and Cian. Some tough singletrack and the full sus was definately the right choice. Savage for a first event, well done racing 395! Thai red curry, rice and pad-thai for all afterwards too. Just awesome.
Blew up big time on the last lap but enjoyed the race. Serious marker set for the season. Electronic chip timing and all.
