Looks pretty cool, I'm tempted.
-
Yeah I'll see how it pans out myself, There was a 12 hour event that used to take place but due to lack of interest over last couple of attempts it crashed out. Hopefully this will go ahead
-
Yeah I did the 12hr well 6 on my Todd and it was good craic
-
Sometimes these events are quite popular and then fade out. As davey said, the one in Belurgan did well for a couple of years
I might be interested in a 4 rider team
-
I've gone ahead and signed up to give them (and myself) some momentum. Right now looking at riding solo but might reconsider.
-
Good on ya Patrick

Race went really well today. I had no endurance training done and really didn't know how I would preform after a few hrs so was delighted to finish 7th after completing 10 laps :)
Thought race was over after 3 laps as I crashed head on to a rider who crossed over the fire road in front of me(most of fire roads were 2 way trafic ) he was taking his shades off and lost control !took a while to recover but over an 8 hrs race it didn't make much difference .
As for Patrick ! What a performance, Hammering out a few 35 min laps to get things going then completed 12 of them to finish 2nd only minutes behind Barry Kellet !!! RESPECT
They know all about IMBRC in Castlewellan now!
-
Wow well done to you both,
Thats great news
-

That was brutal. I woke up feeling just as broken as I went to bed!
I found I really enjoyed the first half, there were 3 of us trading the lead through better climbing, better descending, and faster pit stops; good mano a mano racing. In the second half the distance started to take it's toll, the gaps got bigger and I found it much less enjoyable, counting down hours and laps. My only motivation at the end was finishing on the same lap as Barry (and trying my best voodoo curses for him to puncture!) I think I'm more of a 4 hour rider, I have no idea how people keep moving for 12 or 24 hours! It was an interesting experience, but I really wouldn't be tempted to do one solo again, maybe as a team.
-
Fair play lads..! 8 hours in the saddle is some torture 8)
Here are the results
