Thanks for all the comments lads.

It was some experience. At first I was apprehensive about riding the big alpine stages but once I went down them I just wanted to do them again and again. The stages were probably the best I have ever rode. They were EPIC! The auld frenchies are minus craic though and there was very little banter and it seemed to be a little all over the place as regards signposting and general communication. No one will ever match the Carrick buzz. Weather was smashing but being a ginger it absolutely killed me :-) Stayed on for a couple of extra days and rode Morzine and Les Gets and managed to come home with myself and bike in one piece.
