Bikes being used in competition is so often a misunderstood clause. What they actually mean is that the bike is not covered while you are racing it, ie you're lashing down an Enduro stage and you smack into a tree which results in snapping the bike. They don't mean that if you race them they are not covered. This is the idea behind the underwriters clause however is usually misunderstood by the agents on the floor and I would push back on them for exact meaning and look for it to be referred to a manager. I have done this before and got it on cover. I have always got the bikes covered under the house insurance as a listed item and they are covered for accidental damages as well as theft regardless if its in the house/shed or not. Try Alliance,123.ie or even FBD
