From EPIC site
Following the success of this race two year ago this Iconic course and location makes a return to the calendar for 2015.
As the course is located on private ground this will be your one and only opportunity this year to ride this iconic venue.
The course has been designed and built my Robin Seymore and it can be best describes as single track haven.
This course has everything to test your skills, power and endurance, fast flowing berms, magnificent woodwork, roots, off cambers sections and also how could we forget the switchback climb.
Sign on opens tomorrow @ www.irishxcnps.com
Spread the word and don't miss out!!

I hear S3 race is being renamed the IMBRC race due to so many of us racing it. Will be some craic/carnage.
Tip for anyone who doesn't know, stay out of Scott (aka Statto) Barkley way

Don't know about that. Its Adrian that is really flying at the moment and as always staying under the radar the dark horse.
Either way it will be a laugh

Pressure is on. I better get some proper rest before this Sunday...no drinking Friday or Saturday.

I'm out ...raced the 1st NPS when just off anti b's and got a reoccurrence so missed NPS2...it's been a stop start nightmare year training wise and I'm just getting going again which feels great ! I'd love to race Sunday (original plan was to race them all) but I'm going to be sensible for once and build up fitness 1st ! Best of luck to all racing !

Anyone know if the course will be open before Sunday?

You would have to catch him first Jimmy.....boom..! :P
The fact that I will be seeded ahead of him kinda makes that easy. Ill just have to wait for him to catch me. Then take him out

Er lads I'm hoping you can sign on on the day like the other nps's??
Yes but it will cost you a fiver more for being late with sign-on :-[
-
I would be very surprised if you could not, seeing as you can pay on the day even after registering.
I registered on the day in Lady Dixon last year and have not heard any rule changes this year...

I assume thats the lap times you posted ? Ive no access to dropbox in work and phone is bust.
I'm a fair bit off S2 now. Happy with yesterday, it was a challenging course. Wanted to do better than Ticknok but matched it so can't be that dissapointed. Don't really have an excuse just wasn't fast enough. I'm fininshing too strong and need to give it more earlier in the race. Loads to learn but my god what a course. I dropped my bottle on second lap but ya hardly had a chance to drink anyway as it was go go go. Great having such banter with the club was raging I had to head off home so soon would have loved to stick around for more slagging ha ha.
Well done to Adam and Jonney at least the juniors are getting the Podiums so savage going lads well done.
Roll on Tuesday night need to find speed for Ticknok (and to beat Adrian)
-
Finished 13th, not too bad, hit my goal of top 15 ;D
My goal for Ticknock, beat Jimmy and Ado :)
-
Well done folks, great turnout from the club and some great results.
Tough course but I enjoyed it and had a great battle with Scott and some lad from Epic, it was full contact and all elbows on the last lap :-\ and I managed to pull a little gap on both lads :D
Close racing at its best.
-
Great racing... and I'll tell you it was racing on that last descent.... I had Davey under pressure but he didn't crack so had to dive down the inside of the (poor) epic lad on the last couple of corners.....but no catching Davey

-
Ah right yeah :)
Sure as said all these years I've been trying to go downhil fast when my true talents lie in going up hill :P
-

S2!
Yes thats right i missed that sorry. Ony seen the results today. Fair play and well done girl
-
Good craic at the race. Loved the course. Tried to stay with Davey and Scott but just not fit enough! Kept up for the first lap and then dropped back...all I need is more training.?! Happy enough though.

Looks like you were holding hands with Ed & Patrick at the finish Matt.! ;) Nice battle lads
Great result in 4th S2 for Tayto and Dave Askin in 7th. Dave is flying this year.
-
Cheers Paul. Waiting all my life for racing like that. Great to be gridded and managed to hit top 10 into first singletrack section pushed on with Ronan (Giant), gained a bit of time on second lap but he came back smooth and rode 'the drop' on last lap to push out a slight gap which I could not bridge.
Winning 2014 club champs gave me a nudge to push that bit harder & represent title. Great stable lap times. Found rock garden before switchback disasterous; all over the shop; dab dab dab :-[
Time to review season goals and push for podium. Roll on home soil venue at Ticknock.
Great club turnout & craic.

I do love NPS. As it was my first real NPS I wasn't sure what to do strategy wise,go all out first lap and risk blowing up on the last or try finish strong? All that went out the window the second the race started and it was just peddle as fast as you can for as long as u can.. That first lap was pure carnage but once I got going I started picking off lads 1 by 1 but couldn't catch jimmy the horse!! Hans was on my tail for the whole race which pushed me on.. One of the best xc loops I've ever been on for sure, a bit of everything throws into the mix and I'm pleased enough with a top ten finish. Will that mean I'm seeded for the next one and kick jimmy a ass!! ;)

I cant believe that was your first NPS Ado..!! What have you been doing? :-[ If i have know that i'd have cut your handicap ;)
As for seeding. You will be seeded based on your overall league position to date.
Back when i was competitive my strategy was to get a good start and get into the single track as far up as you can, so as not to get held up and avoid the carnage/walking.! Then try stay ahead as long as you can. Do a hard first lap without blowing up, recover a bit and settle in for the 2nd lap, then flat out for the last and pick off a few fading lads.
Some brilliant photos from Adrian van der Lee here (http://www.adrianvanderlee.com/p515964015)

You raced our NPS, do you not consider that a "real NPS" then ha ha
-
Considering I was down helping to park cars in Leo's field 10mim b4 the race and didn't have a clue how to race, which leaded to me cramping up like jono,I think I'd put g ride down as my first proper NPS.
