Should be a good day out... best course in Kilruddery yet..!
-
Dont forget to sign up for this.! Kilruddery (Bray) is always a great course and not to be missed. ;)
For Championship Cats its online sign-on and payment only by wednesday 13th July.
-
Is the course accessible this week end for a recce spin?
-
no i doubt it... its private land... you can ride it on the sat before
-
Folks...dont forget you have to sign up for the Champs Cats by tomorrow...!!
-
i got Fergal to clarify the situation regarding people wanting to ride the Championship cats on sunday on a day license.
So the story is, you can race on a day license but your only eligible for a Champs medal if you have a CI license (any type of CI license will do as long as it has an IRL designation)

Not sure if I'll get out there on Sat...but info on Sat practice from website as follows:
Saturday pratice:
Gates will be open from 12:30 to 16:00. Please do not arrive before 12:30 as the gates will be shut and the roadway into Kilruddery is quite narrow. Sign on and number pick up will be available once the gates are open
Only riders who have recieved their number boards will be allowed on the Nationals Course and Helmets must be worn at all times

Not going to make it out today for a pre lap...anyone got a list of signed on riders as I just looked on the mtb forum and some riders (Willie Mulligan was one) had signed on but not on list. Want to make sure I 'm on list .
Also can someone who was out there today give me a brief description of how course is riding ?
Cheers Dave

Course was sweet today. Dry & dusty, lots of tough short climbs some are very technical. I didnt ride Tombstone but the chicken run only costs a few sec's.Plenty of overtaking space so no worries there, patches of hardcore around so still should be a fast course if it's wet.I think fitness will win over on technical ability, its a demanding course. The cross over bridge is good, great to see something different on a race course. All in all it has a good mix of everything and then some, everyone will be happy with this one i reckon.

Dave....they just havent updated the list...dont worry about it.
just back from killruddery.....bone dry, but it has since rained on the way back.... nice course, fairly flat and fast with some tough single track kickers thrown in....the first one in particular will be very tough if wet... Generally a fast course using some of the trails we've been on there before.... There are some short technical setions, but over all its a fast flowly course.. As greg says, fittness will win out here..! The bombhole was quite tame compared to slade valley...Tombstone is sketchy, i didnt do it either but the chicken run only costs a few seconds.
Theres alot of tight single track after the start, so getting in to the trail first is key for anyone at the sharp end.
The only negative point i have, is that it could be better raked... I had to stop several times on the practice lap to pull twigs out of the drivetrain...Otherwise a great course..!! ;)

Cheers guys...sounds good ...looking forward to it !

One of the best tracks ever! Twigs what are you like Paul, if you weren't going so slow the trees wouldn't have time to grow around your mech:-)

lol....its narrow minded people like you that cant see the twigs for the leaves :P
-
Yeah, I was very impressed today.... the location, the beautiful woodland track and the level of organization. There's a few sections of pure biking heaven in it.
Fingers crossed for WORC that they get the good weather they deserve....Potentially "the" event of the year for me.
P.s. Paul is correct - twigs got caught caught in my wheels twice on my practice lap but I'm sure it'll be fine tomorrow when it gets ridden more.
See ya all tomorrow.

Well that was a great days racing, didnt think i would have been able for four laps but the support was great from all the gang. Cheers lads.
Some great stuff today from all who raced from the club and fair play to all who got podiums, great stuff altogether. Well done team WORC on a great race.
-
Fantastic event you can always rely on Team Worc to pull out all the stops. Not a bad day for me, I hadn’t the power in the legs for all those kickers. Well done to Kev great ride. Dave O’Brien where did that performance come from:-) Stevo just outside the top ten too, a great showing by the club.

another IMBRCer with a savage performance Dave O B ...

Plenty of more great performances out there, mine wasn't one of them, one of those twigs Paul referred to earlier popped up on the trail and bent my drop out and derailer.....I wasn't flyin like some of the lads anyway so not overly disappointed but was really enjoying the course which is a credit to Worc ...it would have been easy for them to give us one of the previous routes but they they us a class fresh trail !
-
Try this one again...

Well thats was a great day out yesterday...!! Team Worc put on a great course in a fantastic venue, great for spectators too. Fast course but tough going with all the kickers. Not much to say about my race except it was short...
Great to see a big turnout from the club with fantastic results all round from the young lads right up to the auld lads :) By far our best set of results this year...!
Well done to Champ Kev on super win in Masters...Delighted for ya..!! :) Jimbo tried not to extend his trophy cabinet but messed up and came 3rd :-[ Another super race Jim who raced in a cape the whole way to 6th, although they seem to have missed you in the results...Dave in 7th....where did that come from buddy..!!
Steve had a great race in 11th and peter, Davey & Alan doing their first 4 lap race...!!
There was so many highlights..... Micko coming back from a broken ankle, Aine taking 2nd in womens, Sean 5th in Juniors in his first year. The young Mcgarr savages both 3rd.
Well done all... 8)

Yeah great day yesterday deadly coarse. Was delighted to get 6th. Results are changed now and I'm in. Well done to kev - even got a mention in today's Irish times. Dave o b had some race took all I had to just stay in front. Great atmosphere all around course thanks for all the encouragement.
-
Well done to all the racers. That was some course and was a credit to Team Worc. There were some amount of IMBRC racers over there yesterday and some savage results. Fair play to the guys that had a crack at Robin. Kevs win was something else in Masters and there were plenty of guys flying in behind him from the club.
It was great to see the new members to the club flat out racing yesterday. Aine grabing a well deserved podium position and others very close to podium. Its a long way from the winter evenings earlier this year where some starting on the bikes.
