Pete lost his chip somewhere along the course. I think he is still down there looking for it :).
To make matters worse if you look at his Strava and Greg Callaghans he was faster than him in some places such as the Expressway. He was definitely heading for a podium if not top step
Alas though we will never know how fast Pete actually was.
Just good thing he is not the type to have a chip on his shoulder :P
-
There's a nickname in there for him somewhere!!
Fair feckin play all the same that's impressive to be putting it up to Mr Callaghan...

You're dead right Paul. Have the run of your life beat Greg Callaghan and all the top riders only to lose your chip. Thats a runner for goober of the year in my eyes

Sounds like a Goober shoe-in! We should just give out the prize on Tuesday and be done with it.

Hold the ceremony.!
Found out last night Ben broke his collar bone on Sunday.
Speedy recovery ben

Right this is all getting too much and too early in the season.
As the current holder of the goober award I propose we start a thread to track all the goober points for the coming year.
That way those that earn points early in the season are not forgotten (Scott) and we just don't vote through those ones fresh in our minds and more recent to the vote (me)
What ye reckon ?
-
Youre right Jimmy.
Start a new thread and feel free to get a goober league table going with points for crashes, broken bones, trips to hospital, caught on camera, helicopter rescues, bouncing bikes on motorways and general gooberism :P
